This course is organized on two axes !
First :

You will learn to value a product of the hive «propolis», we will see the production of a hydroalcoholic mother tincture and a mother tincture in aqueous solution, how to make a balm with propolis, beeswax and thyme. We will see together how to harvest the scraping propolis. It’s a propolis I keep to make a mother dye I use for bees. Crop propolis using the grids is a high-end, pure propolis that is sought after by cosmetic laboratories. I reserve this propolis for personal consumption.

Secondly :

As the title indicates, it is the awakening of bees. It’s time for the bee shepherd to prepare a protein candi to help our bees. By giving them a good pep boost with this candi, you’re giving the queen information to get back to work. The purpose of homemade candi sugar is to provide a boost to bees as they leave winter. The first container of about 700 g is to be distributed at the first rising moon of the year, in 2023, on January 21. The protein candi is powerful, it should not be considered as a food supply, but simply as a way to restore fishing to the bees who have just spent 4 months partitioned inside the hive. Winter bees that live 4 to 5 months are reaching the end of life, so it is essential that the transition be done with spring bees in the best possible conditions. This year the hazelnut kittens froze, so the bees could not enjoy it. The next pollens arrive at the beginning of April with the first dandelions, so it is important to make up for this lack with the candi, which gives the queen enough energy to restart the laying. We will also see the development of a protein syrup for the second phase of bee awakening.

Purpose of the training:

You will learn recipes and above all you will master the whole of what you bring as input in your hives and you will be autonomous. At the end of the internship, you will be armed with a solid base to wake up your apiary and increase the good health of your daughters to bring them to the door of spring and overcome winter mortality.
